freeRice.com - Save a person dying of Hunger

FreeRice has two goals:
- Provide English vocabulary to everyone for free.
- Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
This is made possible by the sponsors who advertise on this site.
Whether you are CEO of a large corporation or a street child in a poor country, improving your vocabulary can improve your life. It is a great investment in yourself.
Perhaps even greater is the investment your donated rice makes in hungry human beings, enabling them to function and be productive. Somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide. Thank you.
Playing a word definition game at FreeRice.com results in food being donated to the needy. you can “donate” 20 grains of rice to the needy simply by choosing the right answer to a word definition problem. Each correct answer results in another donation of 20 grain of rice.
FreeRice.com is the creation of 49-year-old American computer programmer John Breen, and is the sister site of Poverty.com, launched in January 2007 with a counter showing one person dying of hunger every 3.5 seconds. Breen is no stranger to such programs, having created The Hunger Site in June 1999.
As to who foots the bill for the food being donated, the site says: “The rice is paid for by the advertisers whose names you see on the bottom of your vocabulary screen.” As more people play the game, the site racks up more advertising revenue, which in turn is converted into food donations for the hungry.
The rice is distributed by the United Nations’ World Food Programme, an organization that in 2006 reached 87.8 million people in 78 countries.
So play as much as on the site and learn vocabulary for your personal development and meanwhile you witness to save a person in the world dying of hunger. Its great combination for helping the people and learning yourself.

Paging Navigation (with Page Number) Plug-in for Darklight Wordpress theme.

For the Darklight Wordpress theme, I haven’t found anybody using Navigation bar at the bottom of the page. But I wanted to put navigation to handle large number of Posts.
After some research I found one widget Wordpress Page Number.
Thanks to Jens Tornell who made this plugin for Wordpress that will be an alternative to the “Next page” and “Previous page“. Instead it uses numbers which makes it easier for users to choose what page to go to. It also makes a tighter internal link structure which makes it easier for search engines to find your posts.
All the 5 themes are included from start and are available in admin. You can also check it as a live demo at the bottom of my blog or in archieve.
Options with the Widget
• You can set all the texts and arrows to what ever you want.
• You can limit the number of pages shown at the time.
• You can create paging stylesheets themes (if you don’t want to overwrite the default theme).
• You can turn off the stylesheet.
• You can turn off the page information (page 3 of 5).
• You can turn off the page numbers.
• You can turn off the first and end page numbers.
• You can turn off the arrows.
How to Install
• Download the Wordpress Page Number Plug-in here.
• Upload the FOLDER ‘wp-page-numbers’ to the /wp-content/plugins/.
• Activate the plugin ‘WP Page Numbers’ through the ‘Plugins’ menu in admin.
• Go to ‘Options’ or ‘Settings’ and then ‘WP Page Numbers’ to change the options.
Need to Do following changes in php file
Replace the the ‘next_posts_link()’ and ‘previous_posts_link()’ with the code below in theme (archive.php, index.php or search.php).
<?php if(function_exists(’wp_page_numbers’)) { wp_page_numbers(); } ?>
Advanced usage
This plugin uses only Wordpress own string values, no own SQL-querys is written. That means that you can use this plugin for more advanced use.

The CIBIL – Credit Information Bureau India Limited

In modern world of banking, to help banking and financial institutions to better evaluate the credit worthiness of a customer, Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited and Transunion Score launched the credit score solution. The CIBIL – Credit Information Bureau India Limited is accumulating all your card payments records and your defaults and maintaining records of all major banks.
How CIBIL works?
CIBIL evaluates the credit history of every customer on the basis of CREDIT SCORE. A credit score takes a snapshot of a consumer’s credit report and through advanced analytics turns the information into three-digit number representing the amount of risk a consumer brings to a particular transaction. A credit score is a number between 300 and 900 that sums up a customer’s credit record. This means that every time you pay late on your loan EMIs or your cheque bounces on loans, all this is getting recorded and deducting your scores. Any of the payments you don’t make on Credit cards is making sure that you don’t get a loan or Credit Card in future!
Your Credit Score reflects your credit History
When you approach a credit grantor for credit, your application will be evaluated on the basis of your past payment history, existing credit lines and other factors such as income and security. In this case, a good Credit Information Report (CIR) is one of the best indicators of the level of risk you present to the credit grantor. A CIR that reflects a good past payment history may lead to credit being granted on better terms. On the other hand, a CIR, which indicates that a borrower has been delinquent on several occasions, could lead to denial of or extremely expensive credit.
Advantages of good Credit score?
• You will be required to furnish fewer credit documents
• Turnaround time for your proposal will be faster
• You would also get a lower rate of interest
How Can I improve my Credit score?
• Immediately establish a budget in order to control your cash outflows.
• Ensure that your income level permits an additional monthly outflow if you plan to take a loan.
• Investigate your options in order to reduce your interest and other credit related costs, e.g.,
refinance an outstanding loan at fixed interest rates if there is a significant drop in interest rates
or you discover a significantly cheaper option, etc.
• Use some of your savings to repay some of your debt.
• Understand why you have a bad credit score and work on fixing those specific problems
• Always pay on time.
